Goryokaku

From feudalism Edo to the modern age, Goryokaku tells us the saga of the men who lived at the turning point of history. Built as the first Western-style fortress in Japan, this area, where the last civil war took place, is now famous for its cherry blossoms and witeria, and has become a Special Historical Site designated by the nation.
