Hachimanyama Ropeway

Hachimanyama is the site of the ruins of Hachimanyama Castle, which was built by Toyotomi Hidetsugu, nephew of the Sengoku Period daimyo Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Travel from the foot of the mountain to the summit takes approximately 4 minutes. Take the ropeway gondola to the summit for a sweeping view of Lake Biwa, Azuchi Castle Ruins, and the old castle town of Omihachiman.
