Participate in the Goma Fire Ritual held on the 28th of each month at Ganjoju-in Temple.
For dinner, enjoy a carefully prepared shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine) at Sanyo-so, featuring freshly fried spring mountain vegetable tempura crafted by the head chef.
The next morning, experience a matcha tea ceremony in the Japanese garden and savor a traditional shojin meal in a room designated as a tangible cultural property.

Participate in the Goma Fire Ritual held on the 28th of each month at Ganjoju-in Temple.


Participate in the Goma Fire Ritual at Ganjoju-in Temple starting from 6:00 P.M.
During this solemn fire ritual, purify your mind and offer your prayers to the heavens.
Before the five Buddhist statues designated as national treasures sculpted by Unkei, sacred firewood is burned to eliminate worldly desires, purify both mind and body, and pray for the fulfillment of your wishes.

Ganjoju-in Temple: 83-1 Jike, Izunokuni-shi, Shizuoka, Japan
Approximately 1 hour starting at 6:00 P.M.

  • Transportation to Ganjoju-in Temple (approximately 10 minutes by car) and the prayer fee must be arranged by the guest. For details, please contact the Sanyo-so reservations desk.

Dinner: Shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine)

Your shojin ryori meal with seasonal spring ingredients will be served in a room within the main building, which is registered as a tangible cultural property.
Enjoy a shojin ryori feast featuring freshly fried spring mountain vegetable tempura and seasonal ingredients.
Take in the beauty of Japanese aesthetics while enjoying a fulfilling moment for both mind and body.

Breakfast: Shojin meal

Breakfast will be served in the special room “Kogo,” a space historically used as a study by Hisaya Iwasaki during the time when Sanyo-so was his private villa.
In this historic and deeply atmospheric room, enjoy the beautifully presented shojin meal while admiring breathtaking views reminiscent of a painting.

Matcha experience in the Japanese garden

Participate in a matcha tea ceremony in the serene Japanese garden.
Savor a cup of “TENKU NO MATCHA®” while enjoying the tranquil scenery of the garden.
