【What is “Penelope”?】
A series of picture books by Georg Hallensleben and Anne Gutman published in France in 2003.
In Japan, the Japanese version was published the following year, and in 2006 it was made into an animated series titled “Penelope”.
The familiar everyday episodes depicted in the picture books are enjoyable for readers to relate to and enjoy.
In addition, the unique and colorful pictures full of charm are popular all over the world among both children and adults.

Born in Paris in 1970.
Joined Gallimard at the age of 21 and worked as a designer for 7 years.
During her time at Gallimard, she met Georg.
Through close communication with Georg, she weaves the story of “Penelope” with her humorous sensitivity and precise expression.
Georg Hallensleben / Painting (photo right)
Born in Germany in 1958.
After graduating from high school, he moved to Rome and began exhibiting his paintings in galleries.
In Paris, he met and married Anne Gutman. With Anne Gutman,
With Anne Gutman, he paints the daily lives of children from a concrete point of view with his outstanding expressive power.
Lives in Paris with Anne and their three children.
