Royal Residence Kihin-kan

The one-time Royal Residence Kihin-kan is a splendid Neo-Baroque mansion constructed by the esteemed architect Tokuma Katayama during the Meiji era.
Once the residence of former Imperial family members, this architectural gem is a vital part of our hotel, proudly bearing the name Prince Hotel in homage to, aside from its royal heritage, the legacy of the former Imperial estate in Karuizawa, renowned as a prestigious summer retreat.
Our restaurant, overlooking the Kihin-kan, allows guests to step into the beautifully landscaped courtyard, adorned with an elegant fountain, for memorable photographs after dining.

Japanese Garden

The Takanawa estate has witnessed significant transformations throughout history: from a samurai residence during the Edo period to an Imperial family estate in the Meiji era. Upholding the rich heritage and traditions of this distinguished location, it now serves as the Japanese garden of the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, graced by an international and discerning clientèle.

As night falls, the garden is illuminated by bamboo lights inspired by Edo culture. After your supper, you might like to take a leisurely stroll and reflect on the timeless history that surrounds you.

Cancellation Policy
*Please arrive on time as this will allow the culinary team to prepare your dishes.
*Please note that your reservation may be cancelled if you do not show up within 30 minutes after your reservation time.
*Cancellation policy is applied as follows: 100% of cancellation fee no contact / no show, 50% cancellation fee prior to 1 day and 0% cancellation fee prior to 2 days of booking.
*Any cancellation must be made by 11.59 P.M. local time, 2 day prior to scheduled arrival to avoid a penalty charge.
*In the event of a no-show without prior notice, the full reservation fee will be automatically charged to the room.
